Wind River Systems, which specialises in device software optimisation (DSO), on Monday unveiled its latest multiprocessing and multicore technologies -- tools and platforms -- for various applications in the computing sector.

The twin technologies assist improvement in the functioning, performance, scalability and efficiency of devices.

For instance, Wind River has a range of operating environment by supporting operating system options based on Linux.

Similarly, it provides tools that provide debugging capabilities while supporting heterogeneous operating systems, according to Wind River (India) country manager Venkatesh Kumaran.

He said the firm had launched an initiative to drive standardisation and adoption of multicore architecture and solutions in the device market.

"This will assist manufacturers with software solutions they need to build devices that take advantage of the performance benefits of multicore hardware components," he added.
