Zee News Q1 net at Rs 11.9 crore

Subhash Chandra promoted firm Zee News on Thursday announced a net profit of Rs 11.9 crore for the first quarter ended June 30 over Rs 8.76 crore quarter-on-quarter. Its operating revenue was down at Rs 137 crore versus Rs 138.4 crore Q-o-Q. The company reported 22.7 per cent increase in advertising revenue at Rs 110 crore, while its subscription revenue rose 25. 2 per cent to Rs 26.5 crore in Q 1 June 2009 over Q 1 June 2008.

Info Edge net profit rises 2.5%

Info Edge (India), the owner of leading job portal naukri.com, has posted a 2.5 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 13.3 crore in the first quarter of this fiscal, although its sales were hit due to a fall in corporate hiring. The company’s net profit was Rs 12.97 crore in the same quarter last fiscal, a company statement said.

Mastek FY09 net up 12%

IT firm Mastek on Thursday reported growth of 12 per cent in its consolidated net profit for the quarter ended June 30, 2009, to Rs 141.16 crore. The company had a consolidated net profit (after tax and minority interest) of Rs 125.88 crore during the last fiscal (2007-08), Mastek said in a filing to the BSE.

Siemens profit doubles

Income from exceptional items and new orders helped engineering major Siemens Ltd almost double its net profit to Rs 337 crore for the third quarter ended June 30, as compared to Rs 169 crore for the corresponding period in the previous year. Sales for the quarter rose by 6 per cent to Rs 1,910 crore as compared to Rs 1,810 crore for the corresponding previous period, thanks to a 13 per cent growth in new orders during the quarter.
