Pune-based Zensar Technologies, a joint venture between RPG Enterprises and Fujitsu Services, is in an expansion mode.

The company plans to increase its workforce from 1860 at present to around 3250 in the next 15 months. It has centres at Pune and China.

Speaking to Business Standard, Zensar Technologies chief executive officer Ganesh Natarajan said the company's employee base at the Pune centre stands at 1800 while the total headcount in China is 60. The plan is to take the total headcount to 3000 at Pune and 250 in China.

This, he said, is part of the expansion the company has outlined in order to achieve its target of tripling its revenues by 2008.

Zensar will also set up a "real and virtual" development centre which will be linked to the main centre at Pune. Explains Natarajan: "The aim of this centre is to leverage improving bandwidth and improve productivity as it enables people to work from home."

The company has already begun experimenting on this project. This virtual center will enable remote management if the access is available which then allows for the application framework to be downloaded, then design to be published which is then taken to the central depository. This is then converted to a code and the solution is then developed." The center will be set up either in Chennai or in Bangalore.
