CBSE announces class 12 results, Sukriti Gupta of Delhi tops with 99.4%

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) at Saturday noon declared the much-anticipated results of its Class 12 for the 2016 batch. Sukriti Gupta of Delhi bagged the top spot, with 497 marks out of 500, followed by Palak Goyal from Pehawa (Haryana) at second position. Somya Uppal of Karnal (Haryana) and Ajish Sekar of Chennai shared the third highest position.

Candidates can access the results from the official CBSE website at cbseresults.nic.in.

To check the results online, the candidates are required to follow the steps listed below:

1. Go to the official website http://www.cbse.nic.in, www.cbseresults.nic.in

2. Click on the link and go to 'CBSE Class 12 Results 2016'

3. Enter your roll number

4. Your CBSE class 12 result 2016 will pop up

5. Download your results and if needed, take a print out for future reference

Results will also be sent to the candidates via email. The post result counselling will begin from May 21 and continue till June 4, timings for which will between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m.

A total of 10,67,900 candidates registered for the 12 th class CBSE 2016 exam as against 10,40,368 in 2015. 

HRD Minister Smriti Irani had given assurance in advance this week to students during a Facebook chat that the result for CBSE Board exams for Classes X and XII will be declared "on time", before the end of this month. As per a decision taken earlier, state boards are also expected to declare their results by May 31.

Like always, it will be a occupied admission season for students as they will have to rush from college to college to find a suitable college to get admission.
