The Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) today declared the 10th board examination results. The overall pass percentage was 55.23 per cent. In 2014, 54 per cent candidates had cleared the exam and made it to the higher secondary classes.
"Chhattisgarh has secured first position in the country in declaring high school exam results," state's education minister Kedar Kashyap said. CGBSE has announced the results within one month of conducting the exam. The state was even first in the country to announce the 12th board exams results.
11 out of 22 students in the provisional merit list are girls while Aastha Satpathi from Raigarh had secured top position scoring 99 per cent marks.
In all, 411367 were registered for 10th exam organised by CGBSE, out of which 403762 appeared. The candidates included 192155 boys and 211607 girls. The board officials informed that 43,662 students cleared the exam with first division, 78,660 with second division, and 96,565 with third division.
The officials said 2959 students had cleared the exam while 35,411 would be reappearing through the supplementary exam. The results of 892 students have been withheld while results of 1210 students have been cancelled.
