Decision to close case against K M Birla in 10 days

The case was registered against Birla, former coal secretary P C Parakh and others in connection with the allotment of the Talabira-II coalfield in Odisha

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is about to take a decision in the case against Aditya Birla Group Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla and others for allegedly violating coal mines allocation norms.

"The file is before CBI Director Ranjit Sinha and he will take a decision within 10 days," a CBI official said. "The investigating officers have not found evidence in this case and it might be closed," he added.

The case was registered against Birla, former coal secretary P C Parakh and others in connection with the allotment of the Talabira-II coalfield in Odisha.
