Haryana to get 500 MW power from other states

The demand of electricity will increase after start of the paddy sowing shortly.

Haryana will start getting 500 MW power starting from today from Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Chhatisgarh, Jharkhand and Delhi under the banking arrangements made by the State in order to supply adequate power to the consumers.
    
Stating this at Cheeka in Kaithal, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said the State has tied up 900 MW power from June 15 onwards from these states and Madhya Pradesh.

In view of this 1,000 MW power has been arranged for the month of July, 2013 through banking arrangements, he said after inaugurating the Rajiv Gandhi Vidyut Sadan building at Cheeka in Kaithal, constructed by the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam with an investment of Rs 2.33 crore.
    
Hooda said that at present the demand of electricity is about 6,000 MW in Haryana. It is likely to be 7,000 MW from June 15 to 30 and 8,000 MW in the month of July.
    
The government has already made sufficient arrangements to meet the requirement of consumers, he said.
    
It was decided by the government to supply electricity to agricultural tube well consumers for eight hours, industrial consumers for 20 hours, urban domestic consumers for 20 hours and to rural domestic consumers for 14 hours daily.
