I-T dept raids on realty major Tulsiyani group in Uttar Pradesh

The Income Tax department on Wednesday raided offices and establishments of real estate major Tulsiyani group across Uttar Pradesh and in the national capital, officials said.

Officials of the I-T department said that raids have taken place at 22 places in all. While eight places were raided in the state capital, six were targeted in Allahabad, one in Meerut and eight in New Delhi.

While no official statement has been made, sources say a large amount of tax evasion has been discovered. A team of more than 100 I-T officials conducted these raids simultaneously and are now learnt to be pouring over the documents recovered during the raids.

Many lockers have also been sealed and a trail of bogus shares and benami properties have also been recovered.
