Indian drone 'spying' across LoC shot down, claims Pakistan

The Pakistan Army has said it had shot down an Indian "spy" drone along the Line of Control (LoC), the media reported on Saturday.

The claim, made by the Pakistani military spokesperson, was accompanied by a photo of what seemed to be a commercial Unmanned Aerial Vehicle made by the drone manufacturer DJI. The Pakistan Army said it had seized the wreckage of the 'Indian spy drone' but did not offer any more information.

Posting the claim on Twitter, Major General Asif Ghafoor, the director of the Pakistan military's media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations, said, "Indian quadcopter spying across LOC in Rakhchikri sector shot down by Pak Army shooters. Wreckage held."
 

The ISPR chief also tweeted pictures of the wreckage which, he said, had been seized by the Army, reports Dawn news.

There were no immediate details as to how deep the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) had intruded into the Pakistani side of the LoC.

On November 19, 206, a UAV was downed in the same sector when it had intruded 60 metres into Pakistani airspace.
