Keeping in view the potential of Jamshedpur and copper and uranium townships of Musaboni and Jadugora under Ghatsila sub-division, the state government has decided to invest Rs 300 crore to build six roads in rural pockets to link the state with adjoining West Bengal and Odisha, said Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghuvar Das.
The purpose was to improve inter-district and inter-state connectivity and pave way for all round development including economic and industrial growth of the state, Das said while addressing a public meeting today.
The roads to be developed were Haludboni-Kowali-Lailamghat linking Odisha, Bhiyandih-Bhula and Jerka-Sushni linking West Bengal along with Kunderbeda-Domuhani, Jadugora-Sundernagar and Asanboni-Patamda.
Besides, a bridge over Domuhani river would be constructed at a cost of Rs 60 crore to ease the rising burden of heavy vehicles in Jamshedpur, he said.
The state government has also procured no-objective certificate (NOC) from the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) to repair the 72-km long NH-33 between Mahulia and Baharagora linking West Bengal, he said.
With regards to the Health sector, Das said the government has plans to start tele-medicine facility for rural populace in the next six months time.
Regarding Education sector, the CM said: "We have already appointed 5,300 teachers, while the process is on to recruit 18,000 more by November 15."
Speaking on the occasion, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader and Baharagora MLA Kunal Sarangi said his party would support the BJP government for its development work and appealed to the CM to extend the proposed Dhanbad-Ranchi-Jamshedpur industrial corridor upto Baharagora bordering West Bengal and Odisha.
The JMM MLA further urged the chief minister to develop 400 acres of an abandoned airstrip, which was developed during the World War II at Chakulia under Ghatsila sub-division as it would help the state to achieve economic growth and improve the standard of life of the local residents.
He also demanded to complete the Chakulia-Baharagora rail project pending for long.
