Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and AAP MLA Surinder Singh were on Wednesday detained by Delhi Police when they were going to meet the family members of ex-serviceman Ram Kishan Grewal who allegedly committed suicide over the issue of One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme.

Police claimed both Sisodia and Delhi Cantt MLA had gone to protest at the Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital, and said they were detained just to contain the situation.

Later, they were taken to Parliament Street police station.

Sisodia said he had just gone to RML Hospital to meet the family members of Grewal, where his was kept.

"Due to the Centre's attitude, an ex-serviceman had to commit suicide and I was detained when I wanted to talk to his family," Sisodia tweeted.

Reacting to the move, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal wondered what's wrong with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"Manish Sisodia detained? He had gone to meet family of deceased Ram Kishanji. He is elected Dy CM. Whats wrong wid u Modiji? So insecure?," Kejriwal tweeted.

The Chief Minister wondered whether Deputy CM going to offering condolences to family members in his state will be arrested.

"If Deputy Chief minister goes to offer condolence to family, will he be arrested? There is limit to thuggery, Modi ji," he tweeted.

The 70-year-old ex-serviceman allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison at a park in New Delhi area on Tuesday evening.
