Mukherjee to visit Sweden on May 31

President Pranab Mukherjee will visit Sweden from May 31 to June 2 at the invitation of Swedish King Carl XVI Gustaf along with a delegation of political and business representatives.

The delegation will meet Swedish ministers, parliamentarians and business representatives, Sweden's Ministry for Foreign Affairs said in a statement. 

“The aim of the State Visit is to strengthen Sweden’s long-term political, economic and cultural ties with India. The main themes of the visit are innovations and sustainable development, with a focus on urban development, and science and research, with a focus on life science,” it said. 

This will be the first State Visit to Sweden by an Indian Head of State, it added.
