The government has asked Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) to contribute Rs 100 crore voluntarily to help implement rebuilding work on a massive scale. "Apart from IOCL, the state chief secretary has written to other major corporates like NTPC Ltd, Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) Paradeep Port Trust (PPT) and National Aluminium Company (Nalco) to make similar contributions,",said a senior government official.
Recently, the state government had requested the Centre to provide Rs 4,242.41 crore in the form of grant to rebuild homes and power infrastructure that were affected during Phailin cyclone and floods following the storm.
