During his three-day visit, Nair travelled across the sensitive pockets of worst Naxal-infested districts of Sukma, Dantewada, Bijapur, Jagdalpur, Narayanpur districts and Manpur area of Rajnandgaon. On Friday, he called on Chief Minister Raman Singh and held discussion on the issue.
A state government spokesperson said that Prime Minister's Advisor appreciated the state government's schemes and projects taken up in the districts for development of education and livelihood. He opined that the young officials were conceptualizing innovative projects like Livelihood College Project for creating employment and self-employment opportunities for youths in state.
He added that the projects like Pota Cabin had also been beneficial for the Naxal-affected children of Dantewada district. Nair visited Jawanga in Bastar that is being developed as an education city. The government spokesperson said that Nair appreciated the work taken up by in Manpur of Rajnandgaon district for socio-economic development of villagers.
Nair said that better implementation of government schemes had won the confidence of the people in the Naxal-affected areas, especially youth. It is definitely a good sign that people have faith in state government, he opined.
During interaction, Chief Minister Raman Singh said that the Prime Minister’s advisor visiting the sensitive areas had given a boost to the state government’s confidence as well. “The visit shows that these areas are on the priority list of both State and Centre,” the spokesperson quoting Singh said.
Chief Minister said that senior and experience people should frequently visit the sensitive areas to see the efforts of state government despite all odds and challenges. He also briefed Nair about the initiatives taken by the state government in the red zone.
