Until now the appeals and applications pertaining to Customs, Excise and Service Tax within the jurisdiction of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Yanam commune of the Union Territory of Pondicherry were being taken up at the Regional Bench at Bengaluru.
As this caused inconvenience to the trade and industry the Government of India has constituted a regional bench headed by Justice Raghuram Goda at Hyderabad.
"From December 14,2015 onwards regular judicial work will commence and appeals arising from within the territorial jurisdiction as stated above will be received at Hyderabad.Hearing of such appeals will take place by a division bench or single member bench as scheduled," the tribunal registrar A Mohan Kumar said.
