Raghu Iyer, CEO, RP Sanjiv Goenka's sport vertical said that they have also signed up eight to nine sponsor's for the team, the names of which will be disclosed on April 4.
"Marriott will have their logo displayed on the team's jersey. We also have signed up eight to nine more sponsors. One of them being an international FMCG company, we will give details of the same in a few days," he said.
Rising Pune Supergiants and Gujarat Lions are two new franchises that make their debut in IPL 2016. These two teams replace Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings.
Iyer also said that the team has been assembled and tomorrow onwards the preparatory camp will start. Ticket sales will begin from April 4, and will be available on BookMyShow website.
Iyer is hoping that with M S Dhoni as captain of the team, the experience of Pune having a team this time will be better. "We are aware of the fact that Pune did have a team in the past and the experience was not too good. But with a brand like Dhoni coming in and is liked internationally too will just add to this," added Iyer. Sahara Group owned the Pune Warrior team.
On being asked what the group was planning to make sure RPS continues beyond the two years, Iyer said: "I cannot comment on this as of now. If it happens it will be good for us. If the team performs extremely well over the two years then BCCI may decide to make a 10 team IPL. But we do not have clarity of that now. We would take a year at a time."
RPS also has players like Aussie skipper Steve Smith, South African skipper Faf du Plessis beside the Indian experienced duo of Ajinkya Rahane and R Ashwin.
