The Pakistan Government has declared veteran Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar's ancestral home in Peshawar in Khyber Pakhtunwah Province as a national heritage.
Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is reported to have issued orders in this regard, and directed the ministry of information, broadcasting and national heritage to acquire the house in order to promote cultural relations between the people of India and Pakistan.
According to a report in The Nation, sources at the PM House revealed that the chief secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had requested the federal government to take steps for acquiring the Dilip Kumar's home in Peshawar and to declare it as national heritage with the aim of promoting solidarity between the people of Pakistan and India.
After acquiring Dilip Kumar's home, the Pakistan government is reportedly planning to convert it into a museum.
The Prime Minister has ordered the authorities concerned to expedite the task after which he will invite Dilip Kumar and other members of his family to the country.
A special meeting of the PNCA would be held on Monday to review all aspects to develop the great actor's home.
Dilip Kumar's five marla home is located in Peshawar's famous Qisa Khawani Bazaar area and is reportedly in a shabby condition.
The house is reported to be occupied illegally by a person claiming to be Dilip Kumar's relative.
As per the directions of Prime Minister Sharif, the PNCA would reconstruct the house keeping in view of stature of Dilip Kumar who has fans all around the world.
