To ensure security during the trial of the arrested terrorist, Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasab, the city police has imposed restrictions on the movement of vehicles around the special court.

The traffic police has said no vehicles will be allowed on the roads adjoining the Arthur Road jail in central Mumbai during the duration of the trial which is expected to begin on April 15.

The traffic police has also imposed parking restrictions on the road and said that no vehicles will be allowed to be parked in the region barring those of media.

There have also been restrictions on parking vehicles on roads like N M Joshi Road near the special court which will remain in force until the completion of the trial.

A special court housed in the premises of the Arthur Road jail will conduct the trial of Kasab, the only terrorist to be arrested for his alleged involvement in the November 26 terror strikes in which over 160 persons were killed.

Along with Kasab, the trial of two alleged Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operatives, Faheem Ansari and Sabauddin Ahmed, will also be held here.

High security measures have been put in place at the separate barrack of the jail where the

trial is to be conducted. The high boundary walls have been erected and Indo-Tibetan Border

Police have been deployed to guard the premises.
