Bihar to train 10 million labourers

Nitish Kumar led government in Bihar has decided to horn the skills of more than 10 million labourers in next five years.

To achieve this ambitious goal, the state government will draw a road map and also open new Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in different parts of Bihar. "Today there is no scarcity of work for skilled people," told Kumar while inaugurating an ITI for women in Patna, "therefore we begun work in this regard as soon as we took the reins of the state. Our aim is to bring people out of the vicious cycle of poverty. Skill development is our major weapon in our fight against poverty." The state government has set up an inter-departmental committee under the chairmanship of CM himself for the purpose, which is known as Human Development Mission.

Its aim is to draw a roadmap for the development in the education, skill development and health sectors in the state. The blueprint of the roadmap is almost final and skill development will be an important constituent of the roadmap. Our goal is to train more than 10 million labourers by the end of 2018-19," said the chief minister.
