Britain to present its expertise & innovation in ICT sector

The event is being held in Kerala in partnership with the multinational professional services firm Ernst and Young

As part of the "Great British Festival in Kerala", Britain will showcase its innovation and expertise in the information and communication technology (ICT) sector here March 12.

In a statement issued here Monday, the British Deputy High Commission in Chennai said the event is being held in partnership with the multinational professional services firm Ernst and Young.

"This will bring together academics, researchers and experienced professionals in Kerala, alongside British ICT firms operating in the state to facilitate drawing up a partnership agenda that would drive entrepreneurship and innovation and help provide future value to Kerala and Britain," the statement said.

Bharat Joshi, British deputy high commissioner in Chennai, will be leading the daylong session followed by talks on the highlights of the ICT sector, immigration laws and intellectual property laws in Britain.

There would be a presentation on British firms' present potential opportunities to collaborate, and successful case studies would be showcased.

A panel discussion on "How can Kerala partner with Britain" is also scheduled.
