The Left Front has claimed that Congress and Trinamool Congress have reached a secret understanding for the West Bengal civic elections though the two UPA allies have announced to go it alone in the May 30 polls.

“A study of the withdrawal of nomination by candidates on the last day reveals that Trinamool Congress and Congress have reached a secret understanding for a one-to-one contest against Left Front nominees," Left Front chairman Biman Bose said.

There was a secret understanding between the two parties in the 2008 panchayat elections too, Bose said after a Left Front meeting.
