The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has chalked out an agitational plan against the United Front government from July 15 to July 31 to oppose disinvestment in public sector, demand the revival of sick units and strengthening the public distribution system.
The party, one of the frontline constituents of the United Front, feels that the I K Gujral government has failed on several counts, including the implementation of the promises made in the common minimum programme (CMP).
CPI(M) politbureau member Sitaram Yechury yesterday said several issues would be focussed furing the fortnight-long agitation all over the country.
