Dabhol Probe Ill-Timed: Ncp

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) spokesperson Vasant Chavan today stated that the enquiry commission set up by the Democratic Front (DF) government in Maharashtra to look into the entire deals with Dabhol Power Company (DPC) was ill-timed and would result in his party taking a serious view on the issue.

Addressing mediapersons Chavan said the NCP was never against setting up such a committee to probe the lapses in the DPC project which resulted in high power tariffs. However, NCP had reservations on the timing of the probe, he said.
