The Emergency Management and Research Institute (EMRI) and Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) entered into a memorandum of understanding on Wednesday to work together for strengthening training, research and policy development in the area of public health and emergency management.
According to the MoU, EMRI and PHFI will strive together to maintain an ongoing forum for discussion, training, research and other joint activities related to the aspects of prevention, injury care and emergency medical services.
The two organisations will also try to establish opportunities, including fellowships and internships,in relevant areas of public health.
Like EMRI, PHFI also works in public-private partnership. It is currently working towards building public health capacity in India by establishing 8-9 new institutes of public health over the next six years.
