Fun Republic Ahmedabad, a Rs 40-crore family entertainment centre (FEC) being set up by the Essel Group, is likely to commence commercial operations within the next ten days.
Spread over 1.5 lakh feet and promoted by E-City Entertainment (I) Pvt Ltd, Fun Republic Ahmedabad boasts of 6 cinema halls, a department store spread over 42,000 square feet, a food court and two restaurants, a music store, a bookstore, a games alley and interactive play area for children.
E-City president and CEO Sanjay Das said Fun Republic Ahmedabad is the first in a nationwide chain of 14 FECs being planned by his company in the next 24 months.
Every Fun Republic would provide wholesome world-class entertainment in cinema, retailing, food and games, he added.
The other cities where such Fun Republics are coming up include Mumbai, Chandigarh, Lucknow, New Delhi, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, Vadodara and Kolkata. And all of them would be operational by 2003.
