Everonn arm plans 50 private schools in Gujarat

Having set up its first private school in Gujarat in Himmatnagar, KenBridge Schools, part of Everonn School Limited plans a chain of 50 K-12 English medium schools in the next 4-5 years. Spanning an average area of five acres, each school is expected to have 1,600 students and 55 teachers in the next five years.

"We will be teaching under the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and have a team that is preparing the curriculum in Chennai. Each school will be set up at a project cost of Rs 15 crore in the next 4-5 years," said BM Bopanna, president, Everonn School Limited.

To begin with, Everonn Education Limited's chain of K-12 English medium schools – KenBridge Schools is announcing admissions in nine schools at Mayiladuthurai, Ramanathapuram, Karur, Tirunelveli, Vijayawada, Raipur, Gulbarga, Himmatnagar and Kota by June 2011. In Gujarat, KenBridge School, Himmatnagar will be run by the Samarth Vividhlaxi Seva Trust.

In all 350 such schools are being planned by the company in seven states including Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh. The Trust already offers education across various streams like engineering and technology, medical and para-medical, and computer science, among others. While the Trust would be owning KenBridge School, the same will be managed by Everonn Schools Limited, said Bopanna.

"We have created a curriculum based on six C learning system which includes creative, critical, collaborative, communicative and community consciousness. In the kindergarten block, the classrooms will have a separate activity corner with arts and crafts material, games and other learning equipment like touch based screens with interactive content," said Bopanna.
