Freight traffic goes up by 5% in first quarter

During June, the freight traffic carried by the Railways was 84.95 MT

Indian Railways has carried 256.79 million tonnes (MT) of freight traffic during April-June as against 244.81 MT carried during the corresponding period last year, registering an increase of 4.89%.

During June, the freight traffic carried by the Railways was 84.95 MT.

This is an increase of 4.52 million tonnes over the actual freight traffic of 80.43 million tonnes carried by the Indian Railways during the same period last year, an increase of 5.62%.
