The Planning Commission has approved the project of making four-lane roads on the Kharak-Bhiwani-Dadri-Mahendergarh-Narnaul-Nangal Choudhary Kotputli route for grant of 20 per cent Viability Gap Funding (VGF). Having a length of 151 km, it will be laid on ‘build, operate and transfer’ (BOT) basis at a construction cost of Rs 1,367 crore. Request for Qualification (RFQ) has already been received, and work is expected to be awarded to the concessionaire by the end of May, 2011.
Disclosing this here today, Haryana Public Works (Buildings and Roads) Minister Randeep Surjewala said, being keen on accelerating the pace of infrastructure development in the state, the Haryana Government has taken the public-private partnership (PPP) route in the road sector. The project of making four-lanes of the Yamuna Nagar-Ladwa-Karnal section of the state highway number 6 and 7 on BOT basis with a length of 54 kms, and estimated cost of Rs 435 crore, has also been sent to the Planning Commission for the grant of VGF, he added.
