Hutch launches mobile shops

Hutch, the leading cellular service provider in Gujarat with over 7.70 lakh customers, on Tuesday announced the launch of Mobile Hutch Shops to provide faster online customer service.

This is the first time that a cellular operator has announced this service, said Hutch officials.

Sanjoy Mukerji, chief operating officer, Hutch Gujarat, said, "The Mobile Hutch Shop is a next step in our endeavour for maximum customer satisfaction. There are customers who cannot reach us. So we have decided to reach them."

Customers will now be able to walk into any of the Mobile Hutch Shops "" a specially constructed vehicle "" parked at key locations across towns and cities and get their queries answered and problems solved, the company said. The mobile Hutch shops will provide all services that are provided by Hutch shops.

The first mobile Hutch shop rolled into Ahmedabad on Tuesday and the company plans to increase the number of such shops to over 30 by the end of one year.

The shops will have online connectivity to the billing systems through the nation-wide GPRS service, an executive counter for interaction, a cheque collection box and a retailing stand.
