Kerala Tourism on marketing drive

To hold road shows, business meets across the world as part of its marketing initiatives

Kerala Tourism will hold road shows and business meets across the world as part of its marketing initiatives for the next tourism season. It will orgainse 12 partnership meets across the country beginning with Gurgaon on July 25th followed by Chandigarh on July 30, Jaipur, Lucknow, Vododara, Ahemadabad, Surat, Nagpur, Pune, Indore, Bhubaneswar and Raipur. The programme is scheduled to end on October 1.

Partnership meets are effective B2B platforms where the travel and hospitality Trade from Kerala including hoteliers, tour operators, houseboat operators, home stays and ayurveda centres meet tour operators and travel agents in selected cities. It is a half day business event, which envisages the promotion of Kerala Tourism via public private partnership and enables buyers from target cities to understand and explore Kerala.

This is mainly intended to promote flow of domestic tourists to the state. Kerala receives around 10 million domestic tourists during the main season, September - March. Around 1 million international tourists visit the state on an annual basis. In recent years, the number has increased from the Gulf region, China and South Asian countries.

Besides, it would conduct a series of trade workshops and road shows along with various international travel fairs. The department will participate in 8 trade fairs and organise 15 road shows during this financial year in major cities around the globe. It will participate in trade fairs in Tokyo, Paris, London, Helsinki, Madrid, Milan, Berlin and Moscow.

Road shows will be orgainsed at Geneva on October 1, according to the department's schedule. Shows will also be organised in Manchester, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Paris, Barcelona, Hamburg, Munich, Vienna, Prague, Stockholm, Kiev and St. Petersburg.
