L Mansingh Appointed Dgft Chief

The government today appointed L Mansingh director general of foreign trade.

Mansingh is expected to take over next week after N L Lakhanpal, who will move over as secretary, inter-state council, in the home ministry, hands over charge on Monday.

Prior to his appointment as DGFT, Mansingh was additional secretary in the commerce and industry ministry, handling among other things infrastructure, special economic zones and export processing units.
