| Environmentalist and actor-director Suresh Heblikar of Eco Watch told Business Standard that the purpose of the seminar is to draw attention of the authorities concerned such as the district administration, municipal bodies, legislative representatives, industrial and trade sector, and social and educational institutions which influence the development strategies over the matter. |

| Heblikar said small towns were always trying to ape big cities and over time they too become unmanageable. |

| "To avoid such a situation, efforts are needed to take up planning of the towns in the right earnest," he added. |
