In a bid to provide a suitable environment to young entrepreneurs who want to come up with new innovative ideas and products by using technology, Gujarat government has recently launched its ambitious project called ‘icreate’ (International Centre for Enterpreneurship and Technology) by unveiling the project’s website during a large youth convention held at Gandhinagar.
“icreate’ is slated to be a world-class incubation centre taking shape on the outskirts of Ahmedabad on a sprawling 34 acre campus.
According to the Gujarat government, the project will be guided by an advisory board led by former Infosys chairman NR Narayana Murthy and a group of stalwarts from academia, while the industry will help in actualising the project’s objectives. “With the beginning of icreate, state government desires to give the youths an opportunity to carve a new prosperous future for the world,” said Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi while launching the project.
The incubation center will provide the most perfect environment for new innovations to take birth. "Technology is the demand of time and it can be used to solve the problems of the world. So, the youth should use their creativity and should come up with technological solutions that can positively change the lives of billions of people of the world," Modi added.
Modi also said that he has written a letter to the PM and asked him to permit Gujarat to make more use of India’s satellites for the welfare of the state. Speaking through a video conference, Narayana Murthy expressed faith in the venture and said that it will become successful in attracting high quality entrepreneurs and that could lead to Gujarat becoming a leader in fostering entrepreneurs.
“Poverty can be eradicated from our country only through creating more jobs. And more jobs can be created with more numbers of entrepreneurs coming out,” Murthy added.
