Nasscom had recently said the ban on diesel taxis could lead to a $1 billion loss to the BPM sector if ban on diesel cabs continued.
According to various transporters, approximately 15,000 diesel cabs provide transport services to one million direct and indirect BPO employees in 300-plus BPM firms in NCR.
Bengaluru-based cab aggregator Ola also said the proposed phased roll-out by the Environment Pollution Control Authority and the government would help save livelihoods of tens of thousands of drivers in NCR.
