Pakistan Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani arrived in Chandigarh today to watch the World Cup semi-final clash between India and Pakistan after Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh invited him to watch the match in a move to resume talks with Pakistan.
He said he is happy at resumption of talks between his country and India and noted that the just concluded meeting of their Home Secretaries in New Delhi was positive.
The Pakistan Premier said he spoke to Skipper Shahid Afridi to convey his best wishes to him for the World Cup Cricket semi-final clash with India in Mohali.
"The idea behind my visit to Mohali is to promote cricket and friendship with India," he added shortly before leaving Islamabad to watch the World Cup Cricket semi-final clash between the two countries.
