Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar today expressed confidence that the Budget Session of the Parliament would be held "smoothly".
"Next session will run smoothly," Kumar told reporters here at the airport enroute to Puducherry.
"I have spoken to all the political parties three times and all they want is to run the session (smoothly)," she said.
The Budget Session of the Parliament will start on February 21.
The last session had been completely stalled by a united Opposition over their demand for a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe into the 2G Spectrum allocation scam.
Kumar said she was on an official visit to Puducherry and said she would be visiting Sri Lanka later this week to attend the Third Asian Regional Conference of Commonwealth Parliamentarians.
