The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) on Monday issued a direction to telecom operators on publication of rates.

According to the direction, all rate plans meant for pre-paid and post-paid subscribers would be published in separate formats. “These formats should contain all rate plans offered by the telecom access service provider in a service area covering all rate items along with rate for the same in tabular formats at one place to facilitate easy comparison across rate plans,” said Trai. The regulator said this would improve transparency.
