The Orissa chapter of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) would be launched formally on December 21. The launching of the chapter is expected to promote entrepreneurship in the state in a big way by sensitizing and motivating the next generation entrepreneurs and also providing them the necessary financial and technical support.
The Orissa chapter of TiE will be launched by InvestBhubaneswar, an association of successful Oriya entrepreneurs settled in USA. The InvestBhubaneswar symposium was successfully launched at San Francisco (USA) on July 1 this year.
InvestBhubaneswar is in the process of facilitating the launch of the TiE-Orissa chapter to brand the state as the ultimate and preferred destination for investments into mega industrial projects as well as SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises).
Addressing reporters here, Venkatesh Shukla, member of the board of TiE said, “In India, there is an institutional bias against the stat-ups and the home grown entrepreneurs. Unless the fundamental problems of the start-ups are addressed, an economy cannot flourish. What is needed is a celebration of the spirit of entrepreneurship and present success stories of successful entrepreneurs to the emerging entrepreneurs.”
TiE is organizing an event called 'Catch the Future with Orissa:Expanding the Horizon for Investment' in association with the Xavier Institute of Management (XIM)-Bhubaneswar.
TiE founded in 1992 in the Silicon Valley by a group of successful entrepreneurs and corporate executives has over 11,000 members and over 2500 charter members in 53 chapters across 12 countries.
