SIS Live, the British television production company with rights to produce coverage for the Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2010 for Doordarshan, plans to hire 20 per cent of its proposed 1,200 workforce from India to cover the games in the High Definition (HDTV) format.
SIS Live will bring in its own resources from Britain (around 500 people and specialised equipment) who have prior experience of producing the ‘live’ television coverage for similar sporting events in HDTV. Doordarshan is likely to lend around 70 of its own staffers, while 300 people will come from Australia and Canada, a senior company executive said.
