Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the first full-year budget of the new government at 11am on July 5, the government said on Friday a day after being sworn in for a second term.

Sitharaman faces major challenges, as government data released on Friday showed that India's economy grew at a much-lower-than-expected 5.8% in the January-March period. That is its slowest pace in 17 quarters, and increases pressure for economic stimulus from the government and the central bank through tax cuts and lower interest rates.

The economic survey will be tabled on July 4, said Union minister Prakash Javadekar.

The 17th Lok Sabha's first session will start on June 17 and conclude on July 26. The house will elect a speaker on June 19.

In February, the first Narendra Modi government presented an interim budget for the current fiscal because it was about to complete its term.
