Modernised Mysore airport and a new airport terminal at Mangalore would be inaugurated by Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel on May 15, Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa said today. Yeddyurappa told reporters here that the State government has urged the Centre to start airline operations to Belgaum and Bidar.
“We are starting construction of Shimoga and Gulbarga airports this month itself,” he said. “These two airports are through the private sector route.” Yeddyurappa also said that the Irrigation Department would beautify the dams of Kabini, Hidkal, Markandeya and Narayanpur on the lines of Almatti.
All these sites would be developed and promoted as centres of tourist attraction with private participation. He said proposals in this context would be put up for private investment in the Global Investors' Meet, slated to be held here on June 3 and 4.
