A delegation of BJP leaders, including its Delhi President Harsh Vardhan and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, today met the Chief Election Commissioner and submitted a memorandum over yesterday's violence by AAP workers in front of BJP Headquarters.

BJP leaders demanded criminal cases to be filed against AAP workers and the recognition of party to be cancelled so that democracy may not be in danger.

"The Model Code of Conduct (MCC) came into effect in entire country since yesterday after the Lok Sabha election dates were announced. But the AAP workers did not care about it and they targeted the BJP office. It is dangerous for our democracy," the BJP said in a press statement today.

It has been mentioned in the memorandum that under a conspiracy, SMSs were sent to the AAP workers in Delhi to assemble at Hanuman Mandir Road Office.

"Hundreds of AAP workers assembled and under the leadership of Rajmohan Gandhi, Aashutosh, Shazia Ilmi, former Minister Satender Jain, they reached with lathis and rods in their hands. These people indulged in violence for three hours in which many BJP workers like Dharmesh Vidhyarthi, Pawan Rai, Kusheshwar Sahu, Vijay Dikshit among others were injured," the statement said.

Attacking AAP for deliberately creating an atmosphere to divert the Narendra Modi wave, BJP pointed out that the founder of AAP Arvind Kejriwal was running an NGO and had received 3.69 lakh dollars from Ford Foundation.

"Everybody knows that Ford Foundation works at the instance of Central Intelligence Agency. It gives financial assistance to various organizations in the world to create instability and anarchy," it said while demanding an investigation into the sources of funding.

The delegation also pointed out the failure of police and intelligence agencies to take notice of the fact that the AAP workers were called to assemble at Hanuman Road.

"AAP workers may indulge in more violence due to their frustration and disappointment. Hence it is necessary to ensure that the next Lok Sabha elections be held in a free and fair manner in Delhi," the statement said.

The delegation also met the Delhi's Chief Electoral Officer Vijay Dev.
