Union minister and National Conference president Farooq Abdullah today lashed out at Bihar BJP leader Giriraj Singh for his 'back Narendra Modi or go to Pakistan' remark, saying such "dirty mindset" led to the partition of the country in the past.

"This thinking created Pakistan and I think they want to create a new Pakistan now. If this thinking continues, then saving India will be very difficult," Abdullah told reporters after an election rally in Chadoora area of central Kashmir's Budgam district.

The Union minister said people should raise their voice against such elements and unveil those who want to polarise the society.

"This is dirty thinking and we should raise our voice forcefully against this dirty thinking and unveil those persons who want to harm the unity among Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and Christians in the country," he said.

On the alleged hate speech by VHP leader Praveen Togadia, Abdullah said such threats will not cow down the Muslims in the country. "These threats will not deter us. We have been treading the path of Allah and we will not be cowed down by such threats. God willing, we will succeed," he said.

On the rift between the hardline and moderate factions of Hurriyat Conference, Abdullah said, "I am not going to comment on that because both have said a lot of things. May God help them to make everything right and may they have a good understanding. I cannot say anything more.
