Former chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy today asked  the people of Seemandhra to teach a fitting lesson to the Opposition parties in the ensuing elections for supporting the state bifurcation.

“Some say that I had betrayed the Congress party. But it is the Congress, BJP, TDP and YSR Congress that together betrayed the Telugu people by illegally dividing the state. I am the one who stood by them,” he said while addressing a maiden political rally in coastal town of Rajahmundry, marking the birth of Samaikhyandhra Party as its founder and president.

Reddy also sought to impress upon the voters of Seemandhra that the bifurcation was not a settled matter even though  the appointed date was announced following the passage of AP Reorganisation Act by Parliament. “I have not given up on my fight against the bifurcation. I do hope that the Supreme Court will set aside as they are going to question the government’s action as to how could they introduce a Bill that was rejected by the Andhra Pradesh Assembly,” he said.

Reddy said reversal of the process of bifurcation was possible if the Seemandhra people voted his party in the elections.

Kiran directed most of his criticism against the TDP and the YSR Congress as his just-born political entity would have to face them in a bitter electoral battle in addition to the subdued Congress.

He said TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu  and YSR Congress party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy  had given letters in support of bifurcating the state only in the hope of becoming chief ministers in the residuary state of Andhra Pradesh.
