Sonia Gandhi to campaign in Delhi on Mar 30

Congress has completed the first phase of its election campaign in all the seven Parliamentary constituencies of Delhi

In the second phase of party's poll campaign, Congress President Sonia Gandhi will address an election rally in New Delhi constituency on March 30.

"The support base of Congress has grown from strength to strength, while BJP candidates are in much difficulty and the public support for AAP has completely vanished," Delhi Congress President Arvinder Singh told reporters, while making the March 30 rally's announcement at a press conference here.

Congress has completed the first phase of its election campaign in all the seven Parliamentary constituencies of Delhi. The second phase will start with rallies and meetings, he said.

Gandhi's rally is scheduled for March 30 at 4 PM at Ajmal Khan Park in Karol Bagh in the New Delhi Parliamentary constituency.

Union Minister Krishna Tirath, who was among the many senior Congress leaders present at the press conference, said, "This election is only about Congress. There is no other party or no other candidate who can talk about any policy which is better than Congress."

Tirath said the party has got a good leadership under Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi.

"Congress has always thought about every section of society be it farmers, labourers, women or professionals. Rahul Gandhi, who is leading the party, has been carrying forward the inclusive policies of Rajiv Gandhi," said Tirath.

Congress also announced rejoining of ex-MLA Charan Singh Kandera and induction of Independent Municipal Councillors from the Kotla Ward in Kasturba Nagar Kusum Lata and Ramesh Pehwal in the party.

Singh said their joining the party has strengthened its hold in the South Delhi and North West Delhi Parliamentary constituencies.

Delhi Congress Chief Spokesperson Mukesh Sharma said the party will hold street corner meetings in the coming days in different parts of Delhi as a part of preparation of Congress President's rally.
