Assess Guarantee Risks, States Told

States need to assess the risks associated with guarantees extended to bonds of state undertakings, a senior Reserve Bank of India (RBI) official said on Friday. This follows concerns of the central bank over the affairs of state governments, especially since defaults by state corporations have affected the appetite for such paper.
