Private lender Dhanalakshmi Bank today said its shareholders have passed a special resolution to rechristen the bank as 'Dhanlaxmi Bank'.
This decision on name change was approved by the bank's shareholders at its 83rd annual general meeting held today, it said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
"...Passed the special resolution for changing the name of the bank from the present 'The Dhanalakshmi Bank' to 'Dhanlaxmi Bank'," the filing said.
It, however, did not give any reason for going ahead with the name change.
The shareholders of the bank also another resolution for issuing 2.10 crore equity shares to institutional buyers and investors.
They bank's shareholders also decided to seek a dividend of around 10 per cent, subject to approval of the Reserve Bank. Its board of directors had recommended a 10 per cent dividend at a meeting on May 11.
