India’s largest mortgage lender, Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC), has been included by New York’s Ethisphere Institute in its list of the world’s most ethical companies. HDFC is the only Indian company in the list.
“Ethisphere Institute’s list, which includes 110 organisations, the largest since the award’s inception in 2007, does not have a ranking. Nearly 3,000 companies in more than 100 countries and 36 industries were nominated this year,” HDFC said.
“It feels nice to be one of the world’s most ethical firms and the only one from India. Moreover, the list being based on an independent global survey lends a lot of credence,” Vice Chairman and CEO Keki Mistry said
