ICICI Group's Sonjoy Chatterjee, the man in charge of ICICI Bank's corporate, investment and international banking, has quit -- marking the third high- profile exit within a year.

Sources said Chatterjee, Executive Director on the Board of ICICI Bank, has put in his papers. When contacted, an ICICI Bank spokesperson refused to comment on the exit.

Chatterjee was responsible for corporate and investment banking, international banking business and also government banking, which is a service to address the complete financial needs of the government, its enterprises and all the stakeholders.

Chatterjee's exit comes within a year of two senior officials in the ICICI group -- the life insurance and financial services arms -- quitting.

ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Managing Director and CEO Shikha Sharma had resigned to join Axis Bank last year.

Renuka Ramnath, the managing director and CEO of ICICI Venture, also quit last year to start her own private equity business.

All three officials were reported to be contenders for the post of ICICI Bank CEO after the end of the term of K V Kamath. He was succeeded last year by Chanda Kochhar.
