YES Bank in association with Indian Council for Agricultural Research and Punjab Agriculture University is working on pilot projects to design a customised agriculture insurance product for corn growers in Punjab.

Even as agriculture insurance for some crops is available, YES Bank officials say the need is to offer customised solutions to farmers.

The pilot project in Punjab is likely to be over by 2013. A similar pilot insurance project by YES Bank earlier was run in Maharashtra for grape growers. The bank is also planning similar projects for agriculture and floriculture farmers in Uttrakhand.
